Therapy

Therapy at Hope Academy

At Hope Academy, therapy is more than a service—it’s a cornerstone of recovery. Our licensed professionals offer personalized support to help students strengthen emotional regulation, build life skills, and reconnect with themselves and others. We believe that learning happens when students are seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

Individual Therapy

Our full-time licensed therapist provides one-on-one and group counseling to help students manage emotions, process trauma, and set self-directed goals. Through evidence-based modalities and compassionate care, students develop healthier coping skills, stronger communication, and greater confidence in navigating both recovery and academics.

Therapeutic services are available to all students and include:

  • Individual and family talk therapy

  • Group psychoeducation

  • Case management and goal-setting

  • Brainspotting and life skills support

Occupational Therapy

Hope Academy’s occupational therapy program helps students reconnect with their mind-body awareness—an essential piece of emotional and behavioral regulation. Many teens in recovery struggle with interoception, or the ability to recognize internal body cues. Our occupational therapist works with students in one-on-one and small group settings to build this awareness, support executive functioning, and develop healthy routines.

Through OT, students explore:

  • Emotional regulation and sensory processing

  • Executive functioning skills

  • Identity development and self-reflection

  • Strategies for school, home, and social success

Occupational therapy is also integrated into classroom settings through staff training and collaboration, making it a dynamic part of the student experience.

These services are made possible thanks to generous support from Mental Health America of Indiana and other community partners. Their investment ensures that Hope Academy students have access to the professional care they need to heal, grow, and succeed—both in school and in recovery.
