Our Blueprint for Learning and Recovery
At Hope Academy, we see our school as more than a building. It’s a place built with purpose. Every wall, every room, every hallway plays a part in helping students grow academically and in recovery.
We start the school year by walking through The Hope Way, our blueprint for how we live, learn, and recover together. Think of it like this: if Hope were a house, here’s what you’d find.
The Foundation: Values, Strengths, and Purpose
Everything rests on our five core values:
- Honesty – Be real with yourself and the people you care about.
- Respect – Treat yourself and others with care.
- Support – We help ourselves by helping others.
- Community – People are not for hurting.
- Commitment – Keep an open mind and be willing to make healthy changes.
These values keep us grounded, especially when the work of recovery and learning gets hard.
The Roof: Our Mission
Above it all is our mission: To provide a safe, sober, and challenging academic experience for high school students with substance use disorder.
The roof protects what’s inside, giving us direction and keeping us focused on why we’re here.
The Walls & Frame: Structure and Stability
These are our policies, curriculum, and professional staff—the structure that supports students both academically and personally. Without strong walls, the roof and foundation wouldn’t hold.

Inside the House
- Classrooms – Each teacher creates a space for personal growth, learning, and relationship-building. Every room feels unique, but each one is built on the same foundation.
- Cafeteria – More than a place to eat, this is where community circles, family meetings, and celebrations happen. It’s where we connect.
- GPS/Group Rooms – Spaces to breathe, open up, and work through challenges.
- Doors – Always open to opportunity, access, and new beginnings.
- Hallways – The pathways between spaces, where quick check-ins happen and connections deepen.
The People Who Make the House a Home
- Admin Team – The vision keepers. They connect the moving parts, handle repairs, and make sure everyone is supported.
- Teachers & Recovery Coaches – The builders of daily growth, guiding students through academics and recovery.
- Support Staff – The glue that keeps the school running smoothly.
- Students – Not just participants—culture-shapers who live the values and support each other.
- Parents & Families – Partners in the journey, offering stability, encouragement, and love.
The Hope Way isn’t just a start-of-year tradition—it’s the way we show up for each other, every single day. It’s how we make sure every student who walks through our doors knows they belong, they can change, and they’re never alone in the work.
Here’s to building the next 20 years of Hope!
